I am the grass,

Ever expanding,

Spreading across continents,

Letting life take me.

You are a dandelion,

Beautiful and rich,

Your yellow face,

Rises to the sun.

You rooted yourself in me,

Growing deeper into my being,

Until we are one,

One earth,

Gazing at the sun.

Days pass,

Your yellow beauty fades,

White puffs of poison,

Takes its place.

The winds of fate blow through,

Releasing the poison in you.

A single seed will bring you beauty,

A million seeds will bring you death.

A dandelion is beautiful,

But beneath the surface,

It strangled my roots,

Absorbing my nutrients,

To survive.

We are wild,

The cycles of nature demand death,

But then the Goddess came.

She saw you dandelion,

Loved you dear,

But know too much of you,

Would destroy me.

Goddess raised her hands,

And said a prayer,

“My love for you both,

Is unparalleled and dear,

You can coexist,

But only if you’re both,

Nurtured.”

Goddess shook her head,

Raining stars down,

She thanked each one of you dandelion,

As she plucked you from the root.

With too much concern,

I held you in my fields,

Yielding my green to your yellow.

But glazing fields,

Of emerald green,

Demands to be seen.

I’d host your poison lies again,

But my Goddess has reigned you in.

I am the grass,

You are a dandelion,

My Goddess has freed me,

From your weeded prison.

I grow and grow,

Taller than the trees,

Unaltered,

I grow,

Until I host a world,

Teeming with life.

It’s then I know,

Goddess was right.

I love you dandelion,

But look how much I’ve grown.

I can do a world of things,

Because you left me alone.

Your beauty is glorious,

Your intentions, nefarious,

I love you,

But my death is not yet come.

Nature will call,

Nurture will fall,

But it will be my choice,

To yield to her voice.
